PEMF (Public / Employees / Management / Founders)

PEMF is Valis' audience model for information access. It defines who content or a database is meant to be visible to in principle, across four tiers: Public, Employees, Management, or Founders.
The tiers, ordered from broadest to most restricted:
  • Public — open access, visible to anyone.
  • Employees — internal team only.
  • Management — management-level restriction.
  • Founders — founder-only, highest restriction.
PEMF is used operationally to tag databases and documentation with their intended audience via the
VEC (View / Edit / Comment people-properties)
property. It is also used as the color axis in the , where each PEMF tier maps to a distinct color (Green, Orange, Red, Blue respectively).
