Crypto TVL
The total value of digital assets locked or deposited in Decentralized Finance protocols or platforms on a Blockchain, measured in a fiat currency like USD, to gauge the overall size, liquidity, and activity of the ecosystem.
This metric is calculated by summing the market value (in USD) of all assets deposited or locked across the protocol's Crypto Smart Contracts at a given time.
Example: If a DeFi protocol has 10,000 ETH (valued at $2,000 each) and 5 million USDC (valued at $1 each) locked, the Crypto TVL is (10,000 × 2,000) + (5,000,000 × 1) = $25,000,000.
